Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is a non-invasive healing art that focuses primarily on the nerves, muscles and skeleton. It is an excellent therapy for pain. But, it is not just for back or neck pain. Chiropractic is effective for most pain anywhere in the body. Headaches, arm pain, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, hand pain, sciatica, knee pain, ankle pain and foot pain all respond well to chiropractic care in most cases, whether it was caused by an injury or whether it just started out of the blue.

The use of spinal manipulation as a mean of healing can be traced back to the beginning of recorded history. Chinese and Greek manuscripts written in 2700 B.C. and 1500 B.C. mention the use of manipulation of the spine and the lower extremities to ease low back pain.

In 1895, Daniel David Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, began his work with spinal manipulation and in 1906 published his theory of chiropractic. According to the theory, spinal problems can affect normal nerve function. The theory not only considered structural integrity, but, also included the chemical and mental influences on health. We now call this approach holistic.
